Erma Lee McQueen Lane


Erma Lee McQueen Lane 97, of North Little Rock, AR., made her transition from this earthly life on November 29, 2016. She worked at Missouri Pacific Hospital as a young adult. She was a pillar of her neighborhood and community. She was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Mr. James Lane; parents, Harge McQueen and Lula Sanders; son, Henry Earl “Dickey” Thomas; son in laws, Rev. Frank Evans and Clarence Rhodes, Sr.

She attended First Baptist Church and served as chairperson for the youth, Sunday school member and member of Mission Society as well as prayer warrior serving on the mother’s board until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Mable Jean Thomas Rhodes; grandson, Richard Thomas (Shirley), Roderick Thomas; step children loved as her very own, Willa Evans, Pauline Martin, Alton Lane, Arthur Lane (Flora); daughter in law, Lois Jean Martindale Thomas; grandchildren, Sharon Roby (Dennis), Erma Maria Thomas, Reginald Thomas, Edward Thomas and a host of other grandchildren whom she loved dearly; great grandchildren, Tiffany Roby, Tianna Roby also including other great grandchildren as well as great great grandchildren. All of her family were very special including her nieces, nephews and cousins, Aretha Aycox, Delois Davis (Wardell), Elizabeth Rhodes, Joyce Fagan, Lillie Ann Lawrence (Charles). She will be missed dearly by her many friends and family. Visitation: Monday, December 5, 2016, 10-10:45 am, at First Baptist Church, NLR. Funeral Services: Monday, December 5, 2016, 11:00 am, at First Baptist Church, 2015 Main Street, North Little Rock, AR. Dr. D. L. Richardson, Pastor. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery.   1. I am so sorry to learn about the death of your loved one Erma! I pray that the many fond memories of her will forever love in your hearts and minds. How good to know that our loved ones are only sleeping and that soon they will come back to life by means of the resurrection. John 5:25-28. Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in the promises of God and find inner peace of mind . How good to know our loved ones are only sleeping!
