Jessicia Lynne Turner 29, passed away February 20, 2017. She was a graduate of Sylvan Hills High School and UAPB. She was previously employed at UAMS.

Jessicia leaves to cherish her devoted and loving family: parents, Jeffery and Carol Turner; sisters, Jennifer (Stanley) Nash and Jennisha (Chigozie) Turner-Uduezue; grandparents, Willie and Doris Clay and Pearlean Turner; uncle, Ken (Kim) Clay; Aunt, Jennifer Davis; nieces, Sasha and Samantha Nash.

Iopal Lovice Richardson Daniels 95, of Little Rock, AR was called to her Eternal Home on February 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave Richardson; and Lota Arnold Richardson; brother, Oscar Richardson; maternal grandmother, Alice Arnold, who raised her; and husband, David Daniels, Sr., after marriage of 26 years. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior at the age of 12. She loved and served the Lord faithfully. She and the Holy Bible were inseparable, and she joyfully shared God’s Word with others. She was a Strong Prayer Warrior! She was a faithful, dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church since 1945. She retired after 22 years of outstanding service to the education profession, as an Elementary School Teacher from the Pulaski County Special School District, Which included 10 years in the Lonoke County School District. She leaves to cherish her memories: 2 children, Loualice I. Daniels, of Little Rock, AR., and Dr. David H. Daniels, Jr. of California; 5 grandchildren, David Henry Daniels (Shelia), Dorothy Jean Daniels, Doreen Jeanette Daniels-Oates (Vernon), Dan Daniels (Lorri) and Dora Jane Daniels-Holden (Craig) all of California; 10 great grandchildren, Jasmine, Jada Iopal, Hanna, Harper, Owen, Olivia, Orlando, David Hayden, Lu Yi, Dane and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks and appreciation is extended to the entire staff and nursing rehabilitation at Good Shepherd for their compassionate, comprehensive care, to my mother for 5 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017, 11 am, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 908 Cross Street, Little Rock, AR. Sarah C. Henry departed this Earth on Monday morning, February 13, 2017 in Little Rock.  She was 78 years old.

She was born on January 11, 1938 in Smackover, Arkansas to Bessie Mae and Moses Calloway.

Sarah C. Henry is survived by her children, Michael R. Calloway and Sandra L. Henry; her sister, Dorothy Welch (Jay); and brother, Leroy Calloway (Emily); 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was a graduate of AM & N in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in education.

Sarah C. Henry began her teaching career in the sixties. She began her teaching career at Forest Heights Jr. High, teaching middle school English. After many years, she transferred to Parkview High School, teaching high school English. She retired from teaching in 2005.

She was very passionate about teaching, and was an active member of many professional organizations – the  National Education Association, the Arkansas Education Association, the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, and the AR Council of Teachers of English Language Arts.

Sarah C. Henry was a very dedicated member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church and Immanuel Baptist Church for many years.

James Bernard Goodman 65, of Little Rock, AR passed away on January 23, 2017. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer for 30 plus years. He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Lois Goodman of forty-two years; his son, James Goodman II; daughter, Jamilah Goodman; sister, Stella Hall; sister in law, Andrea Farr; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Cynfranesia “Neasie” Williams, 54 of Sherwood, AR., passed away peacefully on January 19, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Lametria Wafford (James III); mother Ollie Williams of Little Rock; three sisters, Denita Williams, Lisa Fuller (Wayne), both of Little Rock; and Shanee Moore of Sherwood; two grandchildren, James IV and Evan Grace; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and one very special friend, Tyree Layne.

Rev. Joe Hughes, Jr. entered eternal rest on the 13th day of January, 2017. Seeking someone to take care of a love one is an awesome task, so it helps when you find professionals like the ones who took care of our dad.  Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, staff and management of Baptist Health Medical Center, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Center, The Lakes at Maumelle and Arkansas Hospice who seemed as though their job was their ministry as they showed compassion and the highest level of professionalism in ensuring a dignified and loving transition.
